Known ad Ak'eor Usiij Witz or Vulture Hill. Bonampak is located in the state of Chiapas, very close from major sites known as Yaxchilan and Palenque. Bonampak, was dependant from Yaxchilan in the past.
The site is not as impressive in terms of architectural size, but it is widely known for the murals located within three romos in Structure 1 or Temple of the Murals. The date of construction of this site was between AD 580 to 800.The murals clearly depict war and human sacrifices.
